Ninth Letter (Vol. 5, No. 2), a literary journal, was featured in Print Magazine's 2009 Regional Design Annual. The design for James Warner's short story, Cute Monster Spirit Pet Fluffy You Up!, is inspired by 8-bit Nintendo games and comic books. This Ninth Letter story is a whimsical, yet classic Japanese hero tale about a seemingly tragic businessman, named Susumu.
